Heath Skinner, MD, PhD, is a radiation oncologist and chief medical officer with clinical interest in thoracic radiation oncology, head and neck radiation oncology, stereotactic body radiotherapy, and palliative radiation oncology. His laboratory and clinical efforts are mainly focused upon identifying novel, targetable biomarkers of resistance to radiation treatment in upper-aerodigestive tract malignancies. His group utilizes pre-clinical screening models as well as “-omic” analysis of patient tumors to identify potential drivers of radioresistance. These drivers are then studied to provide insight into the underlying radiobiology and serve as targets for novel therapeutics in clinical trials led by his group and others.
